Veikkaus casino in Helsinki introduces slot machine spending limits
Casino Veikkaus in Helsinki introduced spending limits on slots
Finland's largest gambling entertainment operator Veikkaus has announced the introduction of spending limits in its own casinos in Helsinki. The restriction applies to land-based slot machines and is intended to expand the government's social responsibility initiative in the gambling industry. The regulation under consideration will come into force from September 24.
It is reported that the amount of spending will be set by the player himself. Subsequently, this information will be transmitted to the casino operator, who will process the data and enter it in the appropriate registry.
In addition, to prevent exceeding the duration of the gaming process, each machine operator Veikkaus at Casino Helsinki is equipped with a special lock button, marked in red. If it is pressed casinos that are not on gamstop, the session is interrupted and started only after agreement with the administration of the institution.
Casino Helsinki CEO Tiina Siltanen commented on the innovation: "The provision of entertainment management tools is part of Veikkaus' key responsibility to prevent harm caused by gambling. The package we offer is unique in the European casino environment. It's great that our brand and Casino Tampere are pioneers in building a responsible world."
Gaming monopoly Veikkaus expanded the loss limits on its physical slot machines back in August, in addition to the mandatory user ID requirements introduced earlier this year. The measures forced customers to authenticate themselves before playing the slots and then choose an appropriate loss limit.
Restrictions on the size and frequency of deposits also apply to online casinos. The operator initially set a daily limit of €500 as a temporary rule, but it has since become permanent. Finns can spend no more than 2,000 euros per month on gambling activities at Veikkaus facilities.
